The primary objective of the Sisters in Crime Grand Canyon Writers is emphasized in the chapter’s slogan: “Write ~ Publish ~ Sell”. We’re dedicated to helping our members achieve those three goals and develop their careers as published authors, to reach the highest possible levels of success.
In keeping with that commitment, we introduce the “Build Your Career in a Year” program to assist all chapter members with the necessary “building blocks” to either enhance their current careers as published authors, or to put the necessary “bricks” in place to begin a career as an author.
With an emphasis on craft, and marketing and promotions, our chapter presents outstanding Special Events, our signature Fireside Chats series and the following exceptional programs during our monthly chapter meetings.

“Writing Psychological Thrillers”
Join Sisters in Crime Grand Canyon Writers DECEMBER 2023 chapter meeting on Saturday, December 9th when our speaker, Catriona McPherson, a former academic linguist, now writes full-time shares critical information about Writing Psychological Thrillers in addition to discussing how she balances key components of each storyline AND how she successfully writes multipe book series that are so diverse.
Her multi-award-winning and national best-selling work includes: the DANDY GILVER historical detective stories, the LAST DITCH mysteries, set in California, and a strand of contemporary standalone novels including Edgar-finalist THE DAY SHE DIED and Mary Higgins Clark finalist STRANGERS AT THE GATE.
She is a member of Mystery Writers of America, The Crimewriters’ Association, The Society of Authors and Sisters in Crime, of which she is a former national president
Catriona (she/her) was born in Scotland and lived there until 2010, then immigrated to California where she lives on Patwin ancestral land.
